Mister Salzburg wins
Jonas Berger Crowned Mister Vonderheid Austria 2027 in Vienna
Mister Salzburg Jonas Berger has been crowned the winner of the National Finals of Mister Vonderheid Austria 2027, held in Vienna, Austria.
The 21-year-old Architecture student from Salzburg plans to pursue his own architectural practice and will go on to represent Austria at the World Finals of Mister Vonderheid 2027 next year.
Joining him in the winners' circle are First Runner-Up Julien Steiner of Vienna and Second Runner-Up Tobias Fuchs of Vorarlberg.
The national competition began with nine delegates representing Austria's nine Federal States. The contestants faced two preliminary rounds—Swimwear and Viral Dance—before the Final Three were determined, with Salzburg, Vienna, and Vorarlberg advancing to the final stage of the competition.
During the Final Three, the remaining delegates competed in two decisive categories: Final Question and Formal Wear.
Final Question
The Final Question round delivered some of the most memorable moments of the evening.
Mister Salzburg Jonas Berger was asked about the role of democracy across Austria's nine Federal States. In his response, Berger emphasized that democracy is not something won only during elections, but an everyday responsibility and struggle.
He called on Austrians to hold their leaders accountable, stressing that the country is stronger when its people stand together.
Mister Vienna Julien Steiner was presented with a thought-provoking question about whether Mister Vonderheid should allow biologically born females to compete in the competition.
Steiner responded by emphasizing the fundamental mission of Mister Vonderheid: promoting equality and providing an opportunity for everyone to compete. He maintained that anybody should have the opportunity to take part.
Meanwhile, Mister Vorarlberg Tobias Fuchs faced one of the evening's most difficult questions: what he would say to Iran if given a few minutes to address the country and its people.
Fuchs said he would tell Iran and the Iranian people that the world understands what is happening and that it is never wrong to stand up for one's democracy and values. He concluded his answer with a call for world peace.
